Special Case Unit

The Special Case Unit is dedicated to assisting agents with large, complex cases involving the sale of a significant amount of life insurance. The benchmark for eligibility is $10 million of net worth for an estate analysis and comparable parameters for a business or financial analysis. The service this unit provides exceeds those available from Nautilus in the past. Examples may include a higher level of participation at the factfinding interview with the client; more custom verbiage included within the presentations; and, providing greater assistance to professional advisors in the preparation of plan documents.

The Nautilus Group's Chief Advisor to CEO and Head of Special Case Unit is David C. Herrick, CLU, J.D., LL.M. In the insurance industry since 1978, Dave was Vice President and General Counsel for an M Financial Group member office in Denver, Colorado. He has also served as an Insurance Analyst, preparing estate and business analyses. Dave's undergraduate degree is from Dartmouth College, and he holds a J.D. and LL.M. from the University of Denver College of Law. Dave is a member of AALU.

John P. Irvin, CLU, ChFC, CPA, was formerly a President’s Council agent in the Fort Worth General Office. John has an extensive professional background in corporate and personal taxation and debt restructuring. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Accounting and has served as the Chief Financial Officer of an oil and gas concern in Texas. John’s specialty is creating custom proposals that do justice to the complex situations of affluent clients and prospects. He has been with The Nautilus Group since 1994.
